When the Jordan 4 "Kaws" released, sneakerheads everywhere tried to get their hands on a pair with little or no avail. Resell prices skyrocketed and haven't slowed since. Yet with every release of a sought after sneaker, a fake is in the making. I am here today to break down the differences between the fake pair and the retail pair to ensure you don't get scammed when spending your hard earned money. Let's get to it.
First, let's take a look at the soles. As you can see, the soles of the fake pair are a mirrored image of each other. On the real pair, there is not a set pattern. This is a tell tale sign, as the seller cannot provide a credible excuse as to why they are perfectly mirrored. Furthermore, the soles are entirely the wrong color. If someone is trying to sell you a pair with a pre dyed glow in the dark look, do not take the bait as they are most certainly fake.
Here, there is a much more subtle difference. On the back of the fake pair, the "XX AIR" logo is more defined and crisp compared to the real pair. The real pair appears more dull, spaced out, and surprisingly doesn't look as good as the fake pair.
The inside stitching on the real pair illuminates under a black UV light, whereas the fake pair does not light up. Now, the opposite goes for the actual insoles. On the fake pair, the insoles will glow/illuminate. The retail soles should not illuminate under a black UV lights.
Another subtle difference, but a more apparent than the back of the kicks. The design on the toe box of the real pair is more defined and thicker compared to the fake pair.
The "XX AIR" logo on the tissue paper for the fakes is almost invisible. It is not apparent at all. On the real pair, you can't miss the "XX AIR" logo as it is clearly there.
Fake hangtag: Glossy Jumpman. Real Hangtag: Matte Jumpman. Simple as that.
The design on the real dust bag is very sharp and clean cut. The design on the fake pair looks colored on with a piece of sidewalk chalk.
The "KAWS" on the inside tongue tag of the fake pair is much more defined and shiny compared to the "KAWS" on the retail pair. The leather on the fakes appears to be more like "pleather", whereas the real pair appears smoother.
That wraps up the comparison of the Jordan 4 Kaws Real vs Fake. Hopefully this was sufficient info to prevent you from wasting money on fakes.
